TITLE: Administrative Assistant
POSITION STATUS: Full Time – Temporary (8 weeks- Canada Summer Job) (Non-Union)
SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week (flexibility required as need)
REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (BRCCED) is a provincial leader in the Deaf community. Our mission is to provide care and opportunities in a communication-rich environment that enhances the quality of life of those we serve. We are a highly motivated, collaborative team on a mission to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We take a person centered approach that aims to support and make a positive difference in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support as well as support of social and digital media platforms,
PRIMARY DUTIES- Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
- File and retrieve documents and reference materials
- Monitor, screen, respond to and distribute incoming communications
- Administrative support of social and digital media platforms
- Receive and interact with incoming visitors
- Liaise with internal staff at all levels
- Interact with external clients
QUALIFICATIONS- Digital Photography and Video experience an asset
- In-depth knowledge, experience with Microsoft Office an asset
- Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
- Strong writing skills, critical thinking and an ability to work well under pressure
- Must be able to work flexible hours to meet internal/external requirements
- Experience in project management and event planning is an asset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Possesses valid Ontario full G driver’s license
- Knowledge of ASL or a willingness to learn
- French/LSQ an asset
Canada Summer Jobs Requirements- Must be within 15 to 30 years of age (as per Canada Summer Jobs requirements)
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number
- Must be able to commit to full 8 weeks at 35 hours per week
