About the job In this role you will:- Provide administrative support to the Regional Senior Justice
- Coordinate the sitting schedule of Judges and Masters of the Superior Court of Justice Toronto Region
- Review, proofread and edit project planning materials and templates
- Prepare a variety of regular, operational and ad hoc reports
What you bring to the teamTechnical knowledge- You have knowledge of jurisdiction and functions of the Superior Court of Justice
- You have knowledge of relevant legislation (i.e. Criminal Code, Rules of Civil Procedure and Courts of Justice Act)
- You have knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
Analytical and research skills- You are able to understand research techniques and channels in order to research various topics and gather information
- You have the ability to conduct and oversee research and analytical work, interpret findings, assess implications and make recommendations
- You are able to plan and lead research studies and provide direction and guidance to project teams and to manage external search consultants
- You are able to develop reliable, methodological approaches to data collection and analysis.
Communication skills- You have oral and written communication and presentation skills to prepare and oversee the preparation of reports, presentations, briefing material, option papers and speeches
- You can communicate complex information to non-technical audience in common language
- You can determine appropriate formats when preparing letters, reports and charts
Interpersonal and organizational skills- You are able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external counterparts and a range of stakeholders
- You have the ability to work under pressure and to deal with a high volume of matters with competing deadlines
- You are able to track progress and meet deadlines
Project management skills- You have knowledge of current and leading edge strategic planning and project management theories tools and methodologies
- You can coordinate, implement and monitor effective processes and best practices
Computer skills- You have knowledge of various computer software (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Acrobat, COGNOS, FRANK and Crystal Reports)
