Job Summary:Altus Group is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join our Development Advisory division, based in our Edmonton office. In this role, you will work closely with the project management team to coordinate and manage resources for small-scale projects, ensuring delivery of agreed-upon results on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Services: With PM oversight, undertake all aspects of project management services for a single client / relatively small and standard project(s) by managing both internal and external teams
- Prepare project proposals / briefs and answer client questions
- Convert project purpose into project plan - plan all project timelines, milestones, deliverables & micro-deliverables using appropriate software and PM methods
- Manage / control resources, scheduling, documentation, budget and cash flow management of the project
- Produce quality programs, monthly update reports (advising on design, schedule, risk, change and cost and highlighting areas of concern and conflict) and review contract documentation for risk mitigation purposes
- Conduct stakeholder analyses, analyze strengths and weaknesses in order to develop management strategies and proactively identity project risks
- Reviews and verifies that all project documentation has been issued and filed in accordance with PMA standards
- Client Relationships: With PM oversight, lead project/ site update meetings and answer client questions on small simple projects
- Administrative Support: Manage the electronic project filing and archiving process in accordance with PMA standards to ensure records are available for future reference
Key Qualifications:- Diploma of Collegial studies required; field of study in: Project Management / Construction Management/ Architectural Technician / Engineering Technician required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience General understanding of residential/commercial/civil developments projects throughout the full development lifecycle
- Functional Knowledge in Project Management & Construction Management, such as project management skills required with knowledge and understanding of commercial and contractual issues
- Competent project management skills required with good knowledge and understanding of commercial and contractual issues.
- Excellent client relationship skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal and external clients
- Organizational and detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business
