OverviewWe are looking for a behavioral aide to support my 12 year old son with autism. We have a team of professionals like OT, SLP and Behavioural Consultant in place. In this role, we expect someone to help my son in achieving goals and following routines that are established. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and interested in gaining experience in special education. It is also a great role for EAs and current university students as all hours will be in the evening, after school. More hours available in respite, if desired!
Duties- Assist with supervising and engaging my son in educational and recreational activities
- Collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, and parents to ensure comprehensive support
- Assist in preparing materials and setting up activities to promote learning and development
- Keep my son engaged in meaningful manners, help in sensory diet and other developmental support areas.
Qualifications- Experience working with children or in educational settings preferred
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus
- Punjabi/Hindi and English is most prefered! My son is bilingual
- Excellent communication skills
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing quality care and support
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to follow detailed instructions
