OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Responsibilities- Manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Supervise on-site personnel and subcontractors, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Utilize construction management software to track project progress and document changes.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review schematics and blueprints to understand project requirements and facilitate accurate execution.
- Prepare detailed construction estimates and budgets for project planning.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project updates, challenges, and resolutions.
Skills- 5+ years of experience managing civil, marine, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency in construction management software is essential for effective project tracking.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes to ensure high standards are met.
- Experience in supervising teams and managing subcontractors effectively.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam for document management and collaboration.
- Solid budgeting skills to manage project finances accurately.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints for precise implementation of designs.
- Expertise in construction estimating to provide accurate cost assessments.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam for streamlined project management workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances on-site.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software.
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and change management.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Knowledge of Canadian construction contracts, including CCDC contract documents.
- Familiarity with Canadian health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as required.
