Job SummaryAmrit Foods is looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our growing team.
This role is focused on generating new business, with a primary emphasis on developing food service accounts, while also identifying and opening new accounts in grocery, ethnic retail, and other relevant channels as opportunities arise.
We are looking for someone who is confident approaching new customers, understands ethnic food products, and can build strong business relationships in the market. Strong communication skills in Punjabi, Hindi, and English are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new business opportunities with a primary focus on food service customers
- Identify and pursue opportunities to open new accounts in grocery stores, ethnic retail, and other relevant channels
- Generate leads through field visits, cold calling, networking, referrals, and market research
- Visit prospective customers to introduce Amrit Foods products and build new relationships
- Present products, pricing, and promotional opportunities to prospective clients
- Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities
- Follow up consistently to convert prospects into active customers
- Meet sales and new account targets
- Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, customer needs, and product demand
- Provide feedback to management on market opportunities and customer trends
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, leads, follow-ups, and customer interactions
- Work closely with management and internal teams to support new account setup and smooth order flow
- Represent the company professionally in the market
Requirements- Minimum 2 years of sales experience
- Experience in food sales, food distribution, food service, ethnic food products, wholesale, or a related industryis strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of ethnic food products
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, Punjabi, and Hindi
- Proven ability to generate new business and build customer relationships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Confident, proactive, and results-oriented
- Comfortable with prospecting, cold outreach, and field-based selling
- Ability to work independently and manage business development activities effectively
- Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and general sales communication
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel locally as required
Preferred Qualifications- Experience selling into food service, restaurants, catering, wholesale, grocery, or ethnic retail channels
- Existing relationships in the market are a strong asset
- Understanding of Punjabi, Indian, or South Asian food categories is a strong asset
