This student will support IT and Program Data Collection with daily IT support, data collection projects, and Guest IT training. The goal is to empower Guests with skill development, confidence, and mental well-being, while supporting the overall IT needs of the organization. This position helps enhance our ability to serve the Guests, by providing essential IT support, and data collection.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest and Staff Empowerment- Engage with Guests in a respectful, trauma-informed, and inclusive manner.
- Support Guests and staff with IT safety.
- Focus on Guest IT skill-development, training, and teaching.
- Follow all organizational and workplace safety procedures.
- Participate in staff orientation, training, and team check-ins.
IT Support and Data Collection- Provide basic IT assistance to Guests and support life-skill development.
- Troubleshoot basic IT needs as required (including phones, computers, Microsoft).
- Empower Guests, staff and volunteers with IT support.
- Help navigate and troubleshoot data collection and Guest database (Salesforce).
Artificial Intelligence and Software Implementation- Work with IT team to help implement AI software across the organization.
- Provide support among various organizational teams as required.
- Contribute innovatively to help progress the organization forward.
- Assist with training of team members.
Qualifications- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements, plus organizational requirements:
- Be 20 to 30 years old at the start of employment.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Genuine passion to work with a vulnerable population.
- Interest or experience with IT support and AI.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Basic IT skills, and willing to learn (formal or informal).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Assets (Not Required)- Previous experience in a non-profit, community, or Guest-support environment.
- Experience with Salesforce.
