Focusing on incredible ingredients grown as close as possible, treated with respect, and served in an elevated presentation. From Multi-Course Elevated Dinners overlooking the sunset , Canapé cocktail hour on the terrace, stunning Charcuterie Table Spreads for the open-houses, engaging Family Style weddings dinners at the vineyard, or unique Food Stations for corporate events; Oak; offers catering services from Kelowna, across the Okanagan Valley.
Overview:We are hiring 3 to 4 cooks to join our team in anticipation of our busiest year to date; already having significant event bookings over the coming months. With Events weekly, typically on weekends, and Prep during the week; The Prep //Event Cook position is ideal for those who already have full/part time work, and are looking for additional hours.
To provide the highest level of service, we require a high level of training and finesse to match. Although the ideal candidate should have catering experience, we would love to work with the right individuals to continue their learning and growth.

Prep Cook Duties:- Prep happens in the 2-3 days leading up to the event, at our Kitchen in Kelowna, this summer most prep shifts are Weds/Thurs/Fri; typically in the Mornings/Afternoons.
- Cleanliness, Organization, Efficiency, and Quality/Eye for Detail. The Prep Cook is responsible for ensuring our food standards are met, by following instructions/recipes. Opportunities are always present for creative suggestions, as we offer Custom-Curated Menus, at times unique for each event.
Event Cook Duties:- You will be required to meet our Catering Management Team on-site at both private and public venues where events are held in and around Kelowna. At times we do travel to both the North & South Okanagan, in those cases we offer additional gas/travel wages. Applicants are expected to have reliable transportation.
- Depending on the Menu selection (which varies each event) an Event Cook is required to prepare, cook, assemble, and plate a variety of styles of dishes/canapes. Of course, they are also at times required to help clean the space and wash dishes if needed.
- Professionalism and Guest Perception are always at the forefront of our actions. We cater to premium clientele, and it is a privilege to be invited to contribute towards making their events a success. We expect our staff to present themselves in an appropriate way at all times.
Qualifications:- Kitchen experience is required, Culinary School experience is a plus. Previous Catering Experience is preferred. Applicants who’ve experienced High-Level Fine Dining will be prioritized.
- Valid Foodsafe Certificate.
- Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from events around Kelowna.

- Events typically happen on Fridays / Saturdays, but are not limited to, generally in the afternoons starting at 1:00pm or later.
- We value learning and growth, and encourage our staff to ask questions. Our Culinary Director has extensive experience and is always around, and truly wants our staff to grow.
- Starting introductory wage is $20/h. Following a brief trial period with our team, opportunities for raises to $25/h will be quickly organized based on work ethic and quality of work, with potential for additional growth.
- Bonuses are available for staff who refer friends who successfully join our team.
- Tips are shared equally amongst staff based on hours worked at each event.
