Job SummaryClass 1 Professional Driver. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to transport freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving various truck types and handling different cargo loads will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across assigned routes
- Transport freight using flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring cargo integrity.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in compliance with transportation regulations.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
Qualifications- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery routes and freight handling
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and various specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, forklifts, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and best practices for load securing and cargo handling.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Strong route driving skills with a focus on efficiency and safety.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers.
