How You’ll Support the TeamIn this role, you’ll be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of clinical nursing professional development and continuing education in accordance with the Long-Term Care Act and regulations. Your key accountabilities will include:
- Act as a clinical expert/resource/consultant and provide expert knowledge and nursing practices to maintain and improve resident care delivery.
- Lead an annual strategic plan for nursing learning and development initiatives.
- Facilitate new nurse orientation, and manage the nurse education program portfolio, and support performance improvement initiatives for nurses.
- Conduct annual nursing learning needs and gap analyses for nurse leadership, including training, new hire orientation, and ongoing programs, in collaboration with the Supervisor – Quality Improvement & Resident Financial Services.
- Design, implement, and facilitate training programs, incorporating adult learning principles and effective instructional strategies.
- Develop curriculum and materials in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts, including legislative bodies, and Ministry funded incentive and professional development program requirements.
- Collaborate with the nursing management team to identify nurses requiring additional education or support based on professional development plans.
- Manage logistics and scheduling for training sessions in partnership with the nursing management team.
- Monitor staff development, performance management/review, and coaching/mentoring, of nurses and provide updates to nurse leadership.
- Coordinate and lead check in and probationary review sessions with new hires to identify individual clinical practice learning needs and provide educational resources.
