CNC Lathe (Programmer, Set-Up & Run) - Stoney Creek, ON
Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Programmer to join their growing team. This organization is a reputable manufacturer specializing in high-precision components and sub-assemblies supplied to industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, and advanced optics. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring that all machined components meet strict technical specifications.
Responsibilities- Create CNC programs using 3D step files and technical drawings
- Interpret blueprints and engineering documentation to define machining requirements
- Set up and operate CNC equipment, including tooling and fixtures as needed
- Verify program accuracy through testing and adjustments
- Monitor machining processes to maintain quality and efficiency
- Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance when required
- Troubleshoot machining or programming issues in collaboration with internal teams
- Optimize existing programs to improve cycle times and reduce waste
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of programs and setups
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming
- Proficiency with CNC programming software such as Mastercam or Esprit
- Strong understanding of CAD/CAM systems
- Hands-on experience operating CNC machines, including lathes
- Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
