Wage: $25.95/hour (JJEP Grid Level 10 – Community Support Worker; step based on Collective Agreement)

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week (guaranteed). Additional hours up to 36.25 hours per week may be available based on operational requirements and will be offered in accordance with seniority provisions of the BCGEU Community Social Service Sector, collective agreement.
Schedule: Hours will be scheduled in accordance with operational requirements. Shifts are typically scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 3:45 PM; however, as a float position, shifts may vary and may include evenings or flexible hours as needed.

Inclusion Parksville Society is seeking a (Float) Community Support Worker to provide flexible, responsive support across multiple programs and service areas. This position is designed to ensure continuity of service by filling temporary staffing gaps due to vacations, illness, or operational needs. The Float Support Worker plays a key role in maintaining a consistent, person-centred approach while adapting to different teams, environments, and participant needs.
In this rewarding role, you’ll support adults with developmental disabilities to participate in our day programs and community activities. You’ll help each person enhance their quality of life through independence, social connection, and personal growth.
What You'll Do- Support individuals to engage in daily activities and community inclusion programs.
- Encourage skill development, self-determination, and personal achievement.
- Contribute to person-centred planning and goal setting.
- Provide assistance with personal care, mobility, or behavioral supports as needed.
- Create fun, inclusive, and safe environments for all participants.
- Document progress, incidents, and program updates accurately and promptly.
What You Bring- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a community setting.
- Compassion, patience, and a positive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to be creative and try new activities that promote engagement.
- Reliable transportation — able to use your own vehicle for work-related tasks.
Required Education, Training, and Experience- Diploma or certification in a related human/social services field.
- A minimum of one-year related experience as a Community Support Worker with specific experience in behaviours and in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is considered an asset.

- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Certifications:- Valid First Aid
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Class 4 BC Driver’s License (Restricted). Candidates holding a full Class 5 License will be supported to obtain a Class 4 Restricted license during probationary period.
