Named one of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2024, MEA is on a mission to reframe aging and help people thrive in the second half of life.
About the RoleWe’re looking for a versatile, creative, and highly organized Content Marketing Writer & Editor to join our marketing team. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of storytelling, brand voice, and content strategy — someone who can move seamlessly from crafting compelling social media posts to editing long-form thought leadership, to writing workshop copy that converts.
You’ll be the connective tissue across MEA’s content ecosystem, helping to shape how our brand shows up across every channel. A key part of this role involves editing, publishing and developing content that reaches a growing audience passionate about midlife transformation. You’ll also support paid social efforts, contribute to our blog, and ensure every piece of content we produce reflects MEA’s voice: warm, wise, grounded, and inspiring.
What You’ll DoContent Writing & Editing- Write, edit, and proofread content across all marketing channels, including social media, blog posts, email campaigns, landing pages, and workshop promotional copy
- Manage and edit blogs/newsletters on Substack — from content planning and editing drafts to publishing and repurposing across channels
- Develop compelling narratives that bring MEA’s mission to life and resonate with our audience of midlife adults seeking purpose, community, and transformation
- Maintain a consistent, on-brand voice and tone across all content, ensuring alignment with MEA’s warm, wise, and grounded identity
Social Media & Paid Social- Create and schedule engaging social media content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and others as needed)
- Support paid social campaigns by writing ad copy, developing creative briefs, and collaborating with the team on targeting and performance optimization
- Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to insert MEA’s voice into relevant cultural conversations around aging, wellness, purpose, and midlife
Project Management & Collaboration- Manage content calendars and editorial workflows using Monday.com, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are aligned
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the marketing team, facilitators, and leadership via Slack and other tools to gather inputs, review content, and coordinate launches
- Track content performance metrics and use insights to continuously refine the content strategy
Who You Are- An exceptional writer and storyteller with 3–5+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or a similar role
- Experienced editor with a sharp eye for detail, structure, and voice consistency
- Comfortable writing across formats — from punchy social captions to long-form blog posts to email sequences to polished marketing copy
- Familiar with managing and growing a Substack, newsletter, or similar publication
- Highly organized and process-driven, with hands-on experience using project management tools (Monday.com preferred) and communication tools like Slack
- A creative thinker who can generate fresh angles and ideas while staying true to a brand’s mission and voice
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently in a remote environment
- Knowledgeable about social media best practices and paid social fundamentals (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.)
- Enthusiastic about using AI as a creative partner — you have hands-on experience writing and editing AI-assisted content and see tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI platforms as force multipliers for producing high-quality work faster, not shortcuts that replace great writing
- Passionate about (or genuinely curious about) the topics MEA explores: midlife, aging, purpose, wisdom, personal transformation, and community
Nice to Have- Experience working with personal brands and thought leadership content
- Background in the wellness, hospitality, personal development, or education space
- Experience writing to an older audience (late 40s-70s)
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot)
- Experience with Substack
- Basic graphic design skills or experience collaborating with designers on visual content (Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite)
