Barley & Rye is a small kitchen located inside East Van Brewing. We serve sandwiches, snacks, and simple comfort food to brewery guests in a relaxed but busy environment.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys cooking, stays organized under pressure, and takes pride in putting out consistently good food.
This role is a mix of kitchen work and light customer interaction, so being friendly and comfortable working in an open environment is important.
What You’ll Do- Prepare and cook menu items during service
- Complete basic prep tasks and keep your station organized
- Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
- Answer simple menu questions from guests when needed
- Work with the team to keep service running smoothly during busy periods
ScheduleWe are hiring someone who can reliably work the following shifts:
- Mondays (solo kitchen shift)
- Fridays
- Saturdays
- Sundays (solo kitchen shift)
You must be comfortable running the kitchen independently on Mondays and Sundays.
What We’re Looking For- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong basic cooking and knife skills
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in a small kitchen
- Reliable and able to work the schedule listed above
