How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:The Coordinator, Community Outreach & Education is responsible for supporting the development, coordination and facilitation of the Climate Ready Homes program as part of the Sustainable Neighbourhoods team. This includes conducting home consultations with homeowners, promoting the program through marketing, coordinating educational workshops in communities, tracking and reporting on program metrics and successes to funders and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively advance TRCA’s strategic goals.
Major Responsibilities:- Delivers home consultations and customized demonstrations to homeowners on targeted home retrofits, building trusted relationships with homeowners and motivating action.
- Organizes the logistics, communications, and plans for the execution of training, education and community engagement programs, projects and events
- Designs, develops, and delivers workshops, programs, training and/or other types of educational activities to engage diverse audiences in various forms, including community, school, business and other stakeholder forums
- Monitors, reports and tracks metrics related to event and program deliverables, while undertaking research into industry best practices
- Meets with internal and external stakeholders as required to support the execution of education and training and community outreach programs and events
- Designs and deliver tailored marketing and promotion including letters, flyers, signage, website, and social media content
- Supports financial tracking and reporting as well as sustainability of metrics
- Coordinates and consolidates information and data for grant proposals
- Manages equipment/supply inventories and promotional and program materials, replaces, repairs or purchases equipment for programs
- Supports employees/volunteers/contractors, as applicable, ensuring health & safety policies and practices, and other TRCA policies are adhered to
What will you need to succeed:Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Climate, Water Resources, Planning or a related field
- Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license
Experience- 2+ years of experience providing program coordinator or administration
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and in an urban sustainability context
