Salary Range:Salary range for the position is $76,111 to $109,409. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About the job:In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Coordinator, Protection Services Operations Centre, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Protection Services Operations Centre (PSOC) and Photo ID (PID) programs, including the associated team members.
The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the critical services of PSOC and PID effectively support safety and security across Interior Health and liaises with internal and external partners to ensure services meet the needs of the customers.
Typical duties and responsibilities:- Participates in and coordinates the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of programs, policies, and procedures in the assigned area of responsibility across IH.
- Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of a team of PSOC & PID team members to ensure effective shift coverage, and, in consultation with the Manager, ensures compliance with policy and performance standards. Monitors individual team members’ performance; provides guidance and instruction as and when required.
- Provides management, leadership, and supervision to staff in line with established directives and policies relating to the mission and goals of the organization and develops procedures to guide staff in carrying out their duties.
- Hires, appraises, and disciplines staff, up to and including termination. Manages employee attendance and coordinates the Attendance Promotion Program within the department. Carries out employee performance evaluations.
- Monitors and tracks the notifications of security and safety incidents and escalates these via the appropriate channels for follow-up and support. Triages various requests and issues and escalates to the Protection Services Management Team.
- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures to guide PSOC & PID personnel work.
- Develops, implements, and delivers a comprehensive training and onboarding program for PSOC & PID personnel.
- Verifies the operational status of various enterprise security systems to ensure these are working properly; reports any anomalies to the appropriate authority for further action or guidance.
- Ensures that a preventive maintenance plan for the PSOC & PID is in place and oversees its implementation; verifies that maintenance and repair work is implemented as planned and according to standards.
- Interprets and administers collective agreements; participates in the investigation of and response to grievances and routine, confidential employee issues; and participates in Third Party hearings.
- Provides support in managing operating and capital budgets for the assigned area of responsibility, including budget preparation, control, and reporting of expenditures, ensuring the efficient utilization of financial resources.
