The Granite Club is looking for a full time Culinary & Nutrition Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the culinary team, while working directly with the Executive Assistant- Food & Beverage, ensuring smooth administrative operations while contributing to menu planning and dietary compliance. Primary ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support- Manage scheduling, correspondence, and documentation for the culinary department.
- Assist with creating training documentation for culinary and front of the house teams
- Maintain accurate records of menus, recipes, costing, and inventory.
- Assist with vendor communication, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
Menu & Event Coordination- Support menu development by compiling ingredient lists, costing sheets, and nutritional data.
- Coordinate logistics for private events, banquets, and Member dining experiences.
- Prepare and distribute daily menus and special dietary options.
Nutrition & Dietary Compliance- Ensure menus meet nutritional standards and accommodate dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, low-sodium).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food allergens and communicate clearly with culinary and service teams.
- Collaborate with chefs to assist in creating balanced, health-conscious menu options.
Member & Guest Interaction- Respond to Member inquiries regarding dietary needs and menu details.
- Provide accurate information on ingredients, allergens, and nutritional values.
- Respond to internal staff inquiries on food knowledge, participate in tastings and trainings to support menu and nutritional knowledge for the benefit of the Membership.
Operational Support- Assist with inventory tracking, wastage and cost control reporting.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for culinary leadership.
- Own labeling programs for all displayed and packaged food and beverage in the various outlets
- Provide operational support for Club wide events, marquee holidays etc. when necessary
Training (Development) / HR- Acts as a liaison between Management and Staff in regard to absence, payroll issues, vacation, etc.
- Respond promptly and courteously to employee concerns and inquiries
- Follow all Granite Club policies indicated in the Staff handbook, emergency procedures and HR policies
- Handles all paperwork on behalf of the culinary management team in regard to absence requests, progressive discipline, accident report forms and any other HR related documents; forward information to HR department.
- Assist with new Employee set up standards including welcome package material and uniform set up.
- Take advantage of any training possibilities when they arise
Required Qualifications- Culinary diploma or equivalent; Nutrition coursework an asset.
- Food Handlers Certificate
- 2+ years in an administrative role within hospitality or food service.
- Cooking experience in fast-paced kitchens an asset.
- Strong organisational and communication skill- proficient in prioritisation of tasks, projects, and time
- Ability to manage stress and pressure situations effectively
- Knowledge of nutrition, dietary guidelines, and allergen management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and menu management software.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about food and wellness.
- Availability for all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is between $26.00 to $28.00.
