Hartrans Cartage Services is a local, Peterborough based trucking company. We offer last-mile LTL, TL, dedicated courier and dedicated flatbed services to other carriers and local shippers.

Currently, we are looking for a Customer Service-Dispatch Associate. This is a contract position to replace the incumbent while on maternity leave.
The ideal person for this role will be a quick learner, able to work independently, with superior customer service and communication skills (email and phone), high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing requirements in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable working with computers, learning new software, doing basic troubleshooting and working with smartphones. Experience in an LTL environment and a knowledge of geography in Eastern Ontario is an asset, especially within 160 km of Peterborough.
Due to our location and limited public transit, you will require your own reliable transport to get to/from work. Attendance reliability and punctuality is required.
Duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:- Ensuring shipment data & notes are up to date and accurate
- Rating and invoicing of shipments.
- Handling customer service requests.
- Managing shipment paperwork.
- Investigating discrepancies including OSD and following up on claims.
- Booking delivery appointments.
- Managing pickup requests and assigning to drivers in a timely manner.
- Preparing outbound manifests and working with dock to ensure proper loading of trailers.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with drivers and customers.
- Handling DVIR and logs on a daily basis.
- Managing maintenance records & help schedule equipment maintenance.
- Maintaining cellphone inventory and setting up phones for new drivers.
- Doing daily morning yard checks.
- Provide backup to other staff.
- Other related duties.
