The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a reliable, professional, and customer‑focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at our Ottawa West Collision Reporting Centre, located at 211 Huntmar Drive, Stittsville.
This position requires a bilingual (English/French‑speaking) individual who is flexible, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced public‑facing environment.
Hours of OperationApplicants must be available to work 20 hours per week within the following hours and must be able to work weekends:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Weekends: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About the RoleThis is a hands‑on, active role supporting members of the public who have been involved in motor vehicle collisions. You will assist with collision reporting, guide individuals through initial insurance steps, and photograph vehicle damage outdoors in all weather conditions.
You will also assist customers using self‑service kiosks, which requires standing for extended periods. We are looking for someone who brings professionalism, patience, and compassion to individuals navigating stressful situations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Greet visitors, assess needs, and direct accordingly
- Answer telephone inquiries and route calls as needed
- Explain collision‑reporting requirements for Police and insurance purposes
- Verify required documentation (driver’s licence, vehicle ownership, insurance)
- Interview drivers to accurately collect collision details
- Enter information into customized reporting software for Police, insurers, and the Government of Ontario
- Retrieve, file, and organize collision reports
- Photograph vehicle damage outdoors in all weather conditions and upload images
- Scan and manage digital documentation
- Assist drivers with initial insurance reporting steps
- Support customers at self‑service kiosks (standing for extended periods)
- Perform other duties as assigned
You Would Be a Great Fit If You Have:- Bilingual fluency in English and French (oral and written)
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
- A strong understanding of the rules of the road and a valid driver’s licence
- Full availability, including weekends (mandatory)
- 1–2 years of customer service or retail experience (data entry experience is an asset)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and any additional required screening
- Excellent communication, keyboarding, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, sometimes high‑pressure environment
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to support individuals in stressful situations
Working Conditions- Busy, open‑concept office with frequent interruptions
- Extended periods of standing while assisting customers
- Outdoor work photographing vehicles in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold)
- Requires sustained focus and accuracy
