Customer Service Rep.

Your goal in this position is to provide outstanding customer service while managing the ins and outs of our contractor order desk. You’ll be taking orders in person, online, and by phone, while managing our store inventory. Most of the time you’ll be working independently, making sure that every order is processed accurately.

We want someone who is dedicated to helping customers find the right product for them. That’s why you’ll need to be knowledgeable about the kinds of products we sell.

Here are some of the qualities we’re looking for:

• Self-motivated – you don’t need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do, and you’re always ready to take initiative when helping customers.
• Good communication – you like talking to people and genuinely want to help them out. You’re always thinking of a product or strategy that will make their project easier.
• Good learner – you’re interested in learning more about our products and customers. You pick up things easily and can master our ordering system and product line quickly.
• Multi-task – you enjoy the challenge of being everywhere at once. You can keep track of different tasks simultaneously, and have a talent for starting right where you left off.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who wants to start a career with us. With 3 locations, we’re hoping that you’ll want to join our many employees who’ve thrived at Durabond for years.

The Details:

For parts of the year you’ll be working Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm. But things can get a little hectic in the spring, summer and fall so that means more hours: when the weather gets nice, you’ll start staying until 5pm and working alternating Saturdays. The position is at our Scarborough, ON facility.

We offer an attractive starting hourly rate, commensurate with experience, as well as comprehensive benefits and potential for performance bonuses.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced customer service role.
• Experience working in a retail sales role (eg. Home Hardware, Rona, Sherwin Williams).
• Experience working in the construction industry.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet research.
• Experience with inventory/accounting software would be considered an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Expected hours: 44 – 55 per week
