Job OverviewWe are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team in Ottawa, ON. This role focuses on supporting day-to-day reporting, dashboard development, and data analysis for internal and client-facing projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with structured data, building reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, data-driven insights. This position offers hands-on experience across multiple projects in a collaborative consulting environment.
Duties- Collect, clean, and validate data from sources such as SQL databases and Excel files
- Build and maintain dashboards using Power BI or Tableau for business reporting
- Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
- Work with team members and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and define KPIs
- Prepare recurring reports and assist in automating routine data tasks
- Support data modeling and basic data transformations for reporting purposes
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across reports and dashboards
- Document data sources, definitions, and reporting processes
- Provide clear summaries of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience- 1–3 years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar role
- Experience working with SQL for querying and data extraction
- Experience building dashboards using Power BI or Tableau
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Basic understanding of data modeling and reporting structures
- Familiarity with business analysis concepts and working with stakeholders
- Exposure to Python or R is an asset, but not required
- Ability to communicate insights clearly and work in a team environment
EducationDiploma or Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field
Nice to Have- Experience working with ETL processes or data pipelines
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300) or similar
- Experience improving or automating reporting processes
Work Requirements- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (Ottawa area)
- Security clearance is an asset, depending on project requirements
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
