Naaknigewin”) is the child and family wellbeing authority of Saugeen First Nation,
operating independently from Chief and Council. Guided by Saugeen’s inherent
jurisdiction—recognized federally as of November 2025—the organization is
creating a community-driven, culturally grounded model of child and family
supports.
Zaag'idiwin Naaknigewin is in an essential phase of institution-building. Core
financial systems, controls, and reporting structures are being developed with the
support of external specialists. The organization is now seeking a skilled senior
finance professional to assume leadership of the finance function, carry these
systems forward, and support the growth of a strong internal corporate services
team.
Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Financial Services & Corporate Operations provides highlevel financial leadership and is responsible for the daily oversight of Zaag'idiwin
Naaknigewin’s financial administration and corporate services. Reporting directly
to the Executive Director, this role ensures strong stewardship, organizational
accountability, and the effective implementation of new financial systems.
This position requires a leader who can blend strategic oversight with hands-on
operational work. The successful candidate will maintain, refine, and champion
the financial systems designed by external professionals while building
organizational capacity and embedding financial insight into decision-making
processes.
As a senior team member, the Senior Manager contributes to organizational
planning, supports operational readiness, and helps develop a robust foundation
for long-term governance and service delivery.
Major Responsibilities1. Strategic Financial Guidance- Operationalize Zaag'idiwin Naaknigewin’s financial framework, internal
controls, and fiscal policies. - Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the Executive Director
and senior leadership. - Lead multi-year budgets, forecasting cycles, and long-range financial
planning aligned with organizational mandates and community priorities.
2. Operational Financial Management- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, procurement
processes, and financial reporting. - Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal leadership, the
Board, and funding partners. - Manage all aspects of the annual audit and maintain audit readiness in
collaboration with external auditors.
3. Governance, Reporting & Compliance- Apply and uphold financial policies, procedures, and accountability
frameworks. - Ensure compliance with:
- Federal and Indigenous child and family services legislation
- Funding agreements and contribution contracts
- Financial reporting standards and funder requirements
- Prepare Board-level financial materials, risk assessments, and briefing
notes for the Executive Director. - Work with the Quality Assurance lead to ensure financial and outcomes
reporting meet funder standards.
4. Oversight of Corporate & Operational Services- Provide leadership for designated operational functions (e.g., IT,
administration, facilities, procurement, or other assigned areas). - Integrate financial insights with operational planning to support efficient,
culturally grounded service delivery. - Strengthen internal controls and advance continuous improvements
across corporate service functions.
5. Systems Implementation & Capacity Building- Become the internal expert on all financial tools, templates, and systems
used by Zaag'idiwin Naaknigewin. - Ensure consistent application and understanding of these systems across
