About the RoleBGC Thompson is seeking a Director of Finance & Human Resources to join its leadership team at an exciting time of growth. This is a key role that will help strengthen financial oversight, support and develop people, and build the internal systems needed to sustain and scale the organization’s impact.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you will provide leadership in finance and human resources, strengthening internal systems and organizational capacity to support growth and build on the strong foundation of our team.

What You’ll Be Responsible ForFinance & StrategyLead budgeting, financial planning, and reporting while strengthening financial systems, cash flow oversight, and overall financial performance. Provide clear insights and recommendations to support decision-making at the leadership and Board level.
Reporting, Compliance & AuditOversee monthly financial reporting, support Board and Finance Committee updates, and lead audit preparation. Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, funders, and applicable legislation.
Grants & FundingSupport budgeting and financial reporting for grants and funding agreements, ensuring alignment between funding requirements and program delivery.
Human Resources LeadershipSupport a positive and effective workplace by leading recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
Payroll, Benefits & AdministrationOversee payroll, benefits, and employee programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth employee experience.
Systems & ProceduresStrengthen financial and HR systems, improve processes and workflows, and provide staff with the tools and clarity they need to succeed.
What You Bring- Experience in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA or equivalent is an asset)
- Experience supporting people leadership or HR functions
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Experience in a non-profit or grant-funded environment is an asset
- Ability to think strategically while staying hands-on and practical
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leaders and Boards
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
