Adult Day Program Worker Reports to: Program Director Peaceful Hearts Studio is a community-based program for 8 adults with special needs that are very kind and a pleasure to work with. We are currently accepting applications for Day Program Support Workers with unique bubbly personalities. Hours of operation are 8 am to 4 pm. The Day Program Assistant works in collaboration with their program team to ensure and to nurture the well-being, growth and development of core members in the program in accordance with the principles, values and policies.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must hold a current DSW, SSW or Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized college. The successful applicant must have EXCELLENT communication , organizational skills, patience, flexibility and adaptability are required in this role. It is preferred that the applicant be very creative, enjoy crafts, art and using their imagination . Major responsibilities is supporting our clients that are neurodiverse and medically complex . All our team members, support the physical, psychological and emotional well-being of the core members who come to our amazing program. Respond to each person's individuals needs by respectfully supporting them with daily living skills, personal hygiene, , administering oral medication. Encourage each person to achieve the highest level of independence in personal care and relationships. Maintain up-to-date training requirements .Understand and adhere to all Peaceful Hearts community standards, policies, and procedures. Follow the schedule and priorities outlined by the Program Director. Perform other related activities as necessary or assigned. Communicate effectively with the team in order to pass on pertinent information.

Duties include:

• Toileting/changing
• Feeding
• Positioning/transferring.
• Supporting individuals throughout daily program activities and outings.

The ideal candidate will possess the following: DSW, SSW, PSW or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience supporting people with intellectual and or physical disabilities. Demonstrated experience and passion for supporting individuals with complex medical support needs. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. A minimum valid G2 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Demonstrated ability to fully implement and monitor support plans.
