The North Island Crisis and Counselling Centre Society is seeking an individual to fill the position of Early Childhood Educator/Infant Toddler Certification in a 12-space Infant & Toddler child care centre located in Port Hardy, BC. This position is a permanent full time position.
As an early childhood educator, you will be providing direct care for children birth to 3 years of age in a caring and responsive centre-based environment. You will be working under the direction of the I\T Educator and/or the manager. You will provide day to day care for the children enrolled in the program, provide input into early learning curriculum and work as part of a cohesive child care team. Within a child and family focused model, you will follow the routines of the child and the Centre and work collaboratively with parents and caregivers focusing on the needs of their children. You are willing to get on the floor, go outside, play, be creative, nurturing and be willing to have fun!
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge- Communicates clearly both orally and in writing, using good interpersonal skills

- Demonstrates strong knowledge of early child development
- Demonstrates a good understanding of positive child guidance

Will be required to complete routine daily chores as part of a team to ensure the heath and safety of the children and the staff in the Centre.
Preferred Qualifications- Full Provincial Certification in Early Childhood Care and Education with IT certification
- Supervised experience working with families, infant and children.
First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
Terms of EmploymentFull Time, permanent position, 35 hours per week

Salary: $ 24.00/hour + $6.00/wage provincial wage enhancement (ECE certified)
