HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.
We are seeking a dynamic Education Assistant to work with students in the family home. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skill sets.
2026/27 school year
Location: Victoria, BC
Grades: 7-12
Schedule: 15-25 hours per week, flexible during school hours
As the Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:- Supporting the social, spiritual, life skills and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
- Differentiating learning based on student ability and learning styles
- Attending community outings with the student (if needed)
- Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities
- Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:- Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth
- Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
- A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset
- Subject matter knowledge in the applicable grade levels or willingness to learn

- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Pay: $23.97-$28.13 per hour
