Sharebear Playschool Society Requires an Early Childhood Educator (Playschool Educational Assistant)

Sharebear Playschool is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate Early Childhood Educator to fill the position of Playschool Educational Assistant.

Sharebear Playschool Society is a privately owned and operated non-profit organization servicing students, aged between 3-5 years, in Stettler, AB and surrounding areas. The school is managed and operated by a group of volunteer parents who form the Board of Directors. The elected candidate will work closely with the Board members, teaching staff, and families/students of the school.

The specific hours of this job are relative to enrollment and will be determined in collaboration with the Board of Directors and the successful candidate. At our current enrollment for next year, the position would be for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8.45am - 12.15pm, commencing in September 2026.

Sharebear Playschool prides itself on its unique learning environment and play inspired teaching philosophy. With that in mind, it is looking for a dedicated, independent, and innovative individual who can support the teacher in creatively highlighting these features while also making the space their own to support their own strengths.

Specifically, it is seeking an individual who possesses:

• Level 1 or higher Early Childhood Educator Certificate OR a willingness to work towards Level 1 in their first 6 months of employment;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to work closely as a team with the teacher in charge;
• A deep understanding of childhood development and its implications on educating small children;
• Commitment to ongoing learning to support the ever changing education needs of our children;
• A strong focus on building professional and effective relationships with students; Effective classroom management;
• High expectations with the ability to encourage and foster independence at age appropriate levels;
