Position Term:8-week term contract, starting between June 1st, 2026, and July 6th, 2026, and ending August 28th, 2026
Salary:$20/hr; 35 hours per week for a maximum of 280 hours
Job PurposeReporting to the Manager, Learning and Events, the Educational Resources Assistant supports the coordination and delivery of member education, support and training initiatives. The role assists with responding to member inquiries, supporting learning sessions and events, maintaining training records, preparing educational resources, and providing front-line member support. Through this placement, the student will gain practical experience in professional communication, event and project coordination, administrative support, research and data management within a professional association environment.
Duties and Responsibilities- 1. Learning (40%)
- Respond to member inquiries related to courses, sessions, and training requirements in a professional and timely manner
- Track and update new member training progress and completion records
- Assist with the administration of the learning management system (LMS), including session setup, attendance tracking, and reporting
- Prepare materials for sessions, including presentations, handouts, and communications
- Support the coordination and delivery of virtual and in-person learning sessions
- Edit and prepare session recordings for online distribution, including basic video editing
- Research new learning opportunities, industry trends, and emerging topics relevant to member education and other initiatives
- Review content for clarity, accessibility, and accuracy
- 2. Events (25%)
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of member events
- Support event logistics including room set-up, materials preparation, and attendee coordination
- 3. Member Services (25%)
- Welcome members and visitors, providing front-line support
- Answer and direct incoming calls and inquiries in a professional manner
- Support members by assisting with programming new lockbox technology and updating related tracking spreadsheets
- 4. Other Support (10%)
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and organizing supporting documentation
- Take clear, concise, and accurate meeting minutes for meetings
- Other duties, as required
QualificationsExperience- Previous administrative, customer service, or office experience
- Current enrollment in or recently completed a post-secondary program in education, events, project management, communications, business administration, or a related field is an asset
Skills- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Interest in education, research, and content development
- Basic video editing skills or willingness to learn new digital tools
