Spence Diamonds was founded in 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are proudly the leading diamond specialty concept in North America.
We are searching for the right individual to join our Spence Studio Team in Vancouver, BC, as an Entry Level Diamond Sorter. This role will be a temporary 4-month contract to provide leave coverage support.
A diamond sorter will sort small diamonds by weight and dimensions into specific customer orders. Stones are sorted visually using tweezers and by weight using highly sensitive scales. The sorter is also responsible for making sure the diamond inventory remains accurate.
Qualifications:- Highly organized, detail oriented and efficient with time
- Ability to multitask and set priorities
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work within a team setting, excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Strong work ethic
- Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in jewelry industry is an asset but not necessary
Responsibilities:- Manage small diamond inventory
- Preparation of daily shipment, receiving and shipping
- Sorts diamonds according to size for use in jewelry, using sieve, loupe, and precision measuring instrument
- Reads work orders to determine sizes required to fit mountings
- Measures diamonds, using magnifying tools, or sorts diamonds, using sieve of specified diameter, to segregate sizes required.
- Data entry in Microsoft Excel
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada full-time
Work schedule:This is a full-time role with a regular working schedule from Sunday to Thursday.
