Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimating Manager to lead our construction estimating team. The ideal candidate will oversee the preparation of accurate project bids, manage pricing strategies, and collaborate with project teams to ensure competitive and profitable proposals. Duties

• Lead and coordinate the development of comprehensive project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Utilize software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
• Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to ensure all aspects are accurately accounted for in bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
• Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company goals while remaining competitive within the industry.
• Manage the estimation team’s workflow, ensuring timely submission of bids and adherence to deadlines.
• Analyze historical data and market trends to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct risk assessments related to project costs and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction methods, materials, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience managing a team of estimators or related professionals.
• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in preparing complex estimates.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting estimates confidently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and industry best practices is preferred.
