Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleThe successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing executive assistance to the New Zealand High Commissioner in Ottawa. This includes diary management, travel management, and event/representational activity planning. Other duties include Global Affairs Canada protocol administration, social media management, and administrative support to the wider High Commission team and office operations.

Mā wai te mahi nei? - Who are we looking for?The New Zealand High Commission in Ottawa is looking for a motivated and experienced Executive Assistant/Team Administrator who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The ideal job candidate is a self-starter who can juggle competing demands and looks for opportunities to improve administrative processes and practices. They think ahead, anticipates needs, and delivers with minimal direction.
The ideal candidate is a professional administrator with sound judgement and experience supporting senior leaders and handling sensitive information.
They will have the following skills- 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant in addition to general office administration
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Intermediate level MS Office skills: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to deal with confidential matters with professionalism and tact
- Ability to take initiative as a self-starter, and multi-task in a small team
Previous experience is likely to include working in parliament, the military, other diplomatic posts, and/or professional services.
