Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Finance and Operations Assistant to work with the Business Manager. The role supports financial administration, post-award activities, and day-to-day departmental operations.
Responsibilities
- Respond to financial inquiries and maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.
- Prepare, verify, and process accounts payable and receivable, expense reimbursements, invoices, payroll, and deposits.
- Provide operational support, including preparing routine documents and correspondence, coordinating supplies and equipment, and assisting with day-to-day needs.
- Maintain award tracking records and monitor payment schedules and reporting requirements.
- Generate standard financial reports and gather information for departmental planning and reporting.
Qualifications
- Advanced College Diploma (three years) or an acceptable equivalent combination of experience.
- At least two years of relevant financial support experience, including transaction processing and financial reconciliations.
- Experience applying financial guidelines and procedures, maintaining databases, compiling financial data, and generating reports.
- Experience providing administrative and operational support and supporting post-award administration.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, and experience with SAP systems, including FIS and HRIS.
- Strong communication, numerical, accounting, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Position Details
Location: St. George Campus, Toronto, Ontario
Appointment: Budget—Continuing, full-time
Pay: $62,646 annually, with annual step progression to a maximum of $80,116. Pay scale and job class assignment are subject to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
