POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented post-secondary student to join our Finance team for the summer. This opportunity is ideal for a student pursuing study in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field who is looking to gain hands-on experience in accounts payable/receivable processes, general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, an aptitude for problem-solving, and a keen eye for data accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIESAdministrative Support:- Assist with processing and verifying accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Reconcile invoices, purchase requisitions, and payment records
- Support monthly financial reporting and account reconciliation tasks
- Investigate discrepancies and follow up with vendors or internal teams as needed
- Maintain accurate digital records and assist in audit preparations
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
Technological Support:- Use Excel to create, audit, and improve spreadsheets used for a variety of processes in payables and receivables
- Perform data cleanup, transformation, and analysis to support financial decisions
QUALIFICATIONSExperience:While prior professional experience is not required, candidates with any of the following will be considered an asset:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation
- Previous internship or volunteer roles in accounting, finance or another similar field
- Experience with data entry, processing invoices, or reconciling financial transactions
- Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, or using financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, GP Dynamics)
Education:Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
