Role and Responsibilities:We are currently seeking to fill the role of Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Vice President Finance, this position plays a critical role in supporting the financial strength and strategic direction of Prosperity Credit Union. The Financial Analyst provides expert analysis and guidance on investments, liquidity, cash flow, and capital management, while ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to informed strategic decision-making.

Drive Financial Management and Analysis:Monitor and manage corporate investments and derivatives to optimize returns while mitigating risk. Support asset and liability management (ALM) processes and oversee liquidity to ensure sufficient cash flow for operational needs. Identify and mitigate liquidity risks, including developing contingency plans. Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes while analyzing financial data, trends, and performance metrics to deliver meaningful insights and recommendations.
Lead Reporting and Performance Monitoring:Develop and maintain financial monitoring systems and analytical reports. Prepare and deliver regular financial analysis to the Vice President Finance ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial data. Monitor liquidity adequacy and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Support Strategic Operations and Profitability:Recommend innovative approaches to enhance productivity, efficiency, and financial performance. Contribute to strategic financial planning and capital management initiatives through data-driven analysis and financial modelling. Review and recommend updates to financial policies and procedures to strengthen governance and risk management practices.
Qualifications:- Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience evaluating investment opportunities, assessing financial risks, and forecasting financial outcomes.
- Ability to analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Strong understanding of liquidity management, capital management, and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with financial modelling tools considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
