Position:Fitter-Welder / Fabricator
Location: Bolton, ON
Pay Rate: $20–$24/hour (based on experience)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
One of our clients is seeking a Skilled Fitter-Welder / Fabricator to join a fast-paced custom steel fabrication shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing custom steel units and performing hands-on fabrication work, including fitting, assembling, and welding steel components according to engineering drawings.
Responsibilities- Fabricate, fit, and assemble steel components based on engineering drawings
- Perform MIG welding, with some stick welding as required
- Assemble sub-components and full assemblies from technical drawings
- Operate various shop equipment, including:
- Oxy-acetylene torches
- Plasma cutters
- Drill presses
- Band saws
- Other fabrication tools
- Ensure all work meets quality, accuracy, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Required Qualifications- Must be able to independently read and interpret blueprints (100% required)
- A blueprint reading test will be conducted during the interview, including identifying missing measurements
- 2–3 years of strong experience in fitting, aligning, and welding steel components
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Experience using fabrication tools and welding equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Assets (Optional): Valid forklift license
