Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to join our logistics team. This role involves accurately picking, loading, and preparing food service products for shipment within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution, operate heavy equipment safely, and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure efficient order fulfillment and inventory management.
Duties- Utilize warehouse management systems to process and track orders efficiently
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes to load and unload products
- Perform order picking with precision to ensure correct items and quantities are assembled
- Load and unload shipments safely using appropriate heavy equipment
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintain safety standards during operation of heavy machinery and while handling construction or warehouse materials
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Ensure proper organization of warehouse inventory for easy access and accurate stock counts
- Support warehouse management in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Experience- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is highly preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge related to operation of heavy equipment such as forklifts, crane, clamp trucks, and other machinery is desirable
- Experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or construction environments will be beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Previous roles involving load & unload operations or heavy equipment operation are a plus
