Job OverviewSquamish Nature Learners is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and community-minded educator to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a small, mixed-age group of learners (K–6) in a nature-based, place-conscious program that values connection, curiosity, and meaningful learning experiences. Our program blends outdoor education with academic learning, supporting children and families through a flexible and relationship-centered approach.
This full-time position includes:
- 4 days/week in-person teaching in Squamish (outdoor-based program) from 9am to 3pm
You will work with approximately 20 students (depends on registration for the year), collaborating closely with a small team of educators.
This role is best suited for educators who are excited by non-traditional learning environments and are comfortable working outdoors year-round.
Responsibilities- Plan and facilitate hands-on, place-based learning experiences outdoors that align with the BC Curriculum
- Teach across subject areas using an integrated, inquiry-based approach
- Support and guide home-based learners and their families
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and community
- Communicate regularly with families (emails, meetings, check-ins)
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with fellow educators on programming and student support
Qualifications & Experience- Experience working with children (K–6)
- Experience in mixed-age, outdoor, or alternative education settings is strongly preferred
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Self-directed, organized, and adaptable
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Pay: $200.00-$250.00 per day
Work Location: In person
