The Basic GistThe Front-of-House Manager works under the direction of the General Manager to ensure the success of the Mule’s front of house teams. This position is directly responsible for organizing and overseeing the front-of-house department.
That’s a lot of hats — and the FOH Manager wears them all (stylishly) by delivering clear, consistent communication and organizational prowess under the direction and supervision of the General Manager.
The Job:Operations (or The Day-To-Day Stuff):- Ensure guests are given prompt, attentive and unobtrusive service at all times.
- Liaise with the General Manager, Bar Manager and BOH Management to ensure effective cooperation and communication at all times.
- Take a proactive role in encouraging teamwork, cooperation, productivity and a positive attitude within the working environment.
- Be able to access and understand all functions of Toast, 7Shifts, Margin Edge & Google Workspace.
- At the end of all shifts, assist in completing all necessary daily reports and approving all cash outs.
- Work as part of the FOH team in any position, including bartender, server or host, as needed.
- Assist with facilitating meetings such as regular staff meetings, disciplinary action meetings, annual and probationary reviews.
- Attend meetings, including Other Bird Managers meetings, Mule Managers meetings, and Mule front-line staff meetings.
- Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
- Ensure proper front-of-house supervision at all times, and handle any and all complaints or issues that arise in a professional, helpful and friendly manner.
- Participate in the hiring of all FOH staff including bartenders, servers and support staff,
- Work with all FOH staff members to be constantly developing and improving, and assist with training and orientation of new team members.
- Assist with FOH scheduling, and monitor day-to-day FOH staffing levels, and effectively adjust labour accordingly.
- Monitor and order for FOH inventory, and adjust ordering needs as necessary.
- Ensure that policies and procedures are followed at all times, including health & safety and steps of service.
How Much Work & When:40 hours per week
Must be able to balance weekly schedule based on business needs.
Must be able to adjust hours for administrative, social, or other needs outside normal business hours.
We don’t want you to over-work, and we don’t want you to under-work. We just expect you to manage your time.

Your Bosses Are:The Mule's General Manager
Ideally, You Have Experience / Education:- 10+ years of experience working in the hospitality industry, specifically working in contemporary-casual restaurants/bars is required.
- 5+ years Front-of-House restaurant management experience is required.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management will be an asset.
