Job Summary:We are hiring a Health, Safety, Environmental Manager for our client in the construction industry! The HSE Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for managing HSE systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards across all operations.
The position also oversees the quality management system, supports COR and ISO certifications, manages audits and corrective actions, and drives continuous improvement of HSE programs to promote a strong culture of safety.
Job Location: Woodstock, ON
Job Type: Full-time, permanent.
Shift Structure: Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm
Compensation Structure: 100k-130k per annum (depending on experience) + benefits + RRSP match + company car/vehicle allowance/mileage reimbursement + more!
Travel Area Required: 100km radius of Woodstock but split with the HSE Field Coordinator
Responsibilities:- Lead and support HSE Coordinators, ensuring alignment with overall safety strategy and culture
- Develop and manage integrated HSE and Quality Management Systems in line with ISO standards and best practices
- Implement and enhance HSE policies, programs, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization
- Maintain compliance with OHSA, COR, ISO, and other regulatory requirements through audits and follow-up actions
- Partner with leadership to translate HSE strategy into practical, site-level initiatives
- Oversee key HSE functions, including risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and performance tracking
- Work closely with project and operational teams to integrate HSE into planning and execution
- Track, analyze, and report on HSE performance using data-driven insights
Skills/Qualifications:- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive HSE experience, including at least 3 years in construction
- CRSP or CSP designation strongly preferred
- Experience managing or supporting a Quality Management System (QMS) integrated with HSE programs
- Strong knowledge of OHSA, WSIB, COR, and ISO 14001 requirements
- NCSO certification considered an asset
- Solid understanding of provincial and federal HSE regulations within construction environments
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor teams
- Experience with incident reporting, risk management, hazard assessments, and audit processes
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficient in HSE systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
