Job SummaryWe are seeking a experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team in our new Workshop at Bezanson, 20 Miles east of Grande Prairie. This position is available immediately. You will spend have the time on our gravel crusher and other half on our ranch machinery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy duty machinery and ranch equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work on diverse equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, forklifts and farm machinery. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely to support our operations.
Duties- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Conduct inspections to identify wear and tear or potential failures
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools for repairs and assembly tasks
- Replace or repair faulty components such as belts, hoses, filters, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Assist in the assembly of new equipment or machinery as needed
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Requirements- Be able to do all repairs except motors and transmissions.
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment and ranch machinery.
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy equipment
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and welding equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of assembly processes and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members regarding repairs
- Valid relevant certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
