Heavy Equipment Mechanic (421A / Red Seal Preferred)

G&J Equipment is hiring a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our rapidly growing service operation. We specialize in compact equipment and service a wide range of machines, including mini excavators and skid steers.

This role is designed for experienced, high-performing technicians who want independence, consistent workflow, and top-tier earning potential.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain compact equipment (mini excavators, skid steers, etc.)
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems with minimal oversight
• Perform advanced diagnostics and efficiently complete repairs
• Handle both shop and occasional field service work
• Provide accurate assessments and repair recommendations
• Maintain professional standards in safety, organization, and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• 421A License or Red Seal Certification strongly preferred
• Extensive hands-on experience with heavy equipment or compact machinery (required)
• Strong expertise in:
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Diesel engines (especially Kubota)
  • Electrical diagnostics
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workflow
• High level of efficiency, accuracy, and accountability
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

This is a senior-level position. We are only considering experienced technicians. Apprentices or entry-level applicants will not be considered.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
