Heavy Equipment Operator-Haul Truck
Job Description- Experience operating haul trucks such as Komatsu 830E, HD1500, Caterpillar 785C, 789C, 793F, or similar, in an open-pit mining environment.
- Safely operate rigid-frame haul trucks to transport overburden, waste rock, and coal.
- Operate assigned equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures.
- Complete pre-trip inspections, FLHAs, and other reports as required.
- Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using 2-way radios.
- Work collaboratively with team members to safely achieve production targets.
Preferred Skills- 2–5 years’ experience operating equipment in an open-pit mining environment.
- Physical capability to perform the requirements of the role safely and effectively, including climbing ladders to equipment, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 7x7 rotation.
- Ability to remain focused and detail-oriented in all weather conditions and throughout all shift hours.
- Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- A strong personal commitment to safety.
- Demonstrated reliability and dependability, supported by a strong attendance record.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- First Aid/Mine Rescue Training considered an asset.
