About the Opportunity:

GMS is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team in an embedded, site-based role at an active mining operation near Tumbler Ridge, BC. This is an opportunity for ongoing, long-term employment with consistent scheduling and integration into a dedicated site team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy equipment in a surface mining environment
• Complete pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all site safety procedures and company policies
• Work closely with supervisors and crew to meet production targets

Equipment Experience Required (one or more of the following):

• Excavators (production loading, trenching, digging)
• Dozers (D8–D11 size – pushing, reclamation, road building)
• Wheel Loaders (stockpile management, truck loading)
• Rigid Frame Haul Trucks (e.g., CAT 777-797, Komatsu 785)
• Backhoes

Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience operating heavy equipment in a surface mining operation
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts

Compensation:

$40 - $45 per hour with travel and living allowances provided where applicable.

Schedule:

7 days on, 7 days off, with rotating day and night shifts.
