OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to ensure timely delivery of freight across regional and national routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of freight handling, and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to safety and efficiency in logistics operations.
Responsibilities- Safely operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination while maintaining delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring proper maintenance and safety compliance
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or issues encountered during transit
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle operability
Requirements- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in freight transportation and long-haul driving preferred
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, heavy equipment, and familiarity with freight handling procedures
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong navigation skills for planning optimal routes across regions or nationwide
- Excellent communication skills and reliability for maintaining schedules and safety standards
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
