Horton Farmer's Market Assistant
Part-Time
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Business Development & Entrepreneurship, and technical guidance and direction from the Horton Farmer’s Market Coordinator, be responsible for assisting with operating the Horton Farmers Market on an as needed basis.
Horton Farmer’s Market and Commercial Community kitchen- Ensure that the Market site is clean and safe for vendors and visitors, following all local health guidelines, before and after events.
- Assist with setup and take down for Saturday Market.
- Attend and assist with Saturday Market and market related events, including the community commercial kitchen.
- Provide excellent customer service responding to enquiries and questions from vendors and patrons.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities and functions as assigned.
Qualifications- Must possess an OSSD or equivalent. Relevant higher education an asset.
- Experience working with the public is an asset.
- Customer service, consulting for business start-ups on topics such as marketing, sales, recordkeeping, insurance, regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Understanding of farming and agricultural businesses is an asset.
- Understanding of culinary arts and food businesses is an asset.
Other- Satisfactory Police Record Check.
Remuneration and Hours- Remuneration Range: $18.43 - $20.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay.
- Hours of work will be on an as needed basis on Friday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., although special events and evening programming may require additional work time.
