Edison College Canada, established in 1973, is accredited and recognized by The Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Being a student-centered institution, our mandate is to offer in-demand programs with excellent employment outcomes, and we have now expanded our offerings to include programs in Health Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Instructs curriculum and contributes to maintaining the curriculum for the betterment of the program
• Organizes and is responsible for instructor materials
• Defines daily objectives and begins with an overview of the daily lesson plan
• Administers all assessments according to guidelines and procedures
• Grades and checks daily work, projects, and quizzes in a timely fashion according to guidelines
• Follows procedures for administering, recording grades, and filing of assessments.
• Attends faculty meetings and in-service training
• Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing

Qualifications and Education

Instructors/facilitators must have an appropriate combination of education, occupational experience and teaching experience as follows:

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Community Support Worker & Social Services capacity
• Completion of certificate or diploma in Community Service Worker or Social Services
• Teaching experience is preferred

Skills

• Knowledge of MS Office and/or database systems
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Efficiently planning and organizing
