The OpportunityThe IT Asset Manager (iTAM) will be responsible for leading and optimizing all technology related hardware and software asset management program activities. This role will be responsible for enhancing the Life Cycle Asset Management policy, processes, framework, tools, compliance, governance and metrics. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with all IT stakeholders to ensure that Assets Management related program processes and procedures are effectively maintained and communicated.
- Responsible for maintaining a detailed inventory of all hardware and software assets
- Responsible for ensuring due processes are followed for provisioning and de-provisioning of assets
- Establish, maintain and enhance existing policies, standards, process and procedures
- Implement a short term and long-term strategy to ensure the IT asset catalog accounts for risk, governance and compliance
- Maintain quality control throughout the lifecycle of all IT assets by developing processes and procedures to help track, manage and provide recommendations that will lead to cost savings
- Responsible for ensuring provisioned assets are tagged into Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensure information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable
- Develop strategies and provide recommendations to optimize technology spend
- Develop KPI’s and metrics and establish a reporting cadence
- Participate with SDLC, Change Management and other existing processes that impact assets directly
- Participate in vendor agreement management to monitor and track hardware and software assets license and warranties
- Participate in ITSM processes and projects as needed for oversight and, or awareness for effective asset configuration management
- Collaborate with the IT stakeholders to monitor usage of IT assets and recordings of findings, changes, physical location and incidences of support.
- Co-ordinate asset disposal activities to ensure compliance with the Asset Disposal/ Destructions Standards.
The Requirements Needed- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration or Technical Certifications
- At least 5 years of ITSM experience
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in IT asset management or IT asset administration
- Experience managing and working with a CMDB
- Experience in designing, implementing and running a Software Asset Management process
- Experience working with Enterprise Licensing Agreements
- Experience with IT Asset procurement
- Certification or strong understanding of ITIL, ITSM and iTAM
- Strong communication, planning, organizational and project management skills
- Nice to have: Understanding of ISO 127001
- Nice to have: Experience using Service Desk+
