On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an IT Business Analyst, Banking – Payment Products for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
IT Business Analyst, Banking – Payment Products - Job Description:The project involves supporting additional payment resiliency initiatives, including OSFI E-21 Operational Resiliency, ISO 20022, EFT, and wire transfer-related projects. This role requires a strong understanding of payment products and project management to effectively align technology solutions with business strategies.
IT Business Analyst, Banking – Payment Products - Responsibilities:- Work with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
- Demonstrate informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
- Support one or more highly complex business processes.
- Work on multiple projects as a project team member.
- Serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
IT Business Analyst, Banking – Payment Products - Mandatory Skills:- 8+ years as a business analyst or related experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation (BRD/FRD/SRS).
- 3+ years strong payments domain expertise: AFT/EFT (low-value payments), ACSS, SWIFT (MT/MX messaging), ISO 20022.
- 2+ years hands-on experience in low-value payment flows: clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling (returns, recalls, reversals).
- Experience with regulatory compliance & operational resiliency: impact assessments, critical service mapping, incident playbooks, governance frameworks.
- Strong background in AML, including payment monitoring and compliance reporting.
- Demonstrated delivery/project coordination across business and technology stakeholders.
IT Business Analyst, Banking – Payment Products – Nice-to-Have Skills:- Agile delivery experience (Scrum/Kanban, JIRA, Confluence, user stories).
- Experience with UAT, test case creation, and defect triaging.
- Experience supporting KPI reporting / senior leadership presentations.
- Experience with Canadian payments ecosystem.
- Previous Scotiabank experience.
