About the OpportunityAn established leader in the healthcare sector is seeking a high-caliber IT Governance & Quality Lead to join their IT infrastructure and security division. This organization operates a complex, mission-critical technology environment where security and operational excellence are paramount.
As a key member of the governance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that enterprise-wide IT processes remain secure, efficient, and compliant with global standards. Reporting directly to the CISO’s office, this role is centered on objective analysis, independent auditing, and the maturation of IT governance frameworks across the entire department.
This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work model. Candidates must be local to the Ottawa/National Capital Region to support on-site collaboration requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:- SOP & Policy Lifecycle: Lead the development, review, and formalization of IT standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies in partnership with technical process owners
- Audit & Compliance: Plan and execute regular audits of business and technical processes to evaluate control effectiveness and adherence to internal standards
- Gap Analysis: Perform comprehensive process gap analyses to identify risks or deficiencies and provide evidence-based recommendations to IT leadership
- Corrective Action Management: Track remediation efforts and the closure of audit findings, ensuring that improvements are sustainable and risks are escalated appropriately
- Framework Alignment: Promote and embed industry best practices, specifically aligning IT operations with ITIL service management and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in IT Quality Assurance, IT Audit, or IT Compliance within a complex, regulated environment such as healthcare
- Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of IT infrastructure (networking, data management, identity systems, cybersecurity, etc.) and experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred)
- Certifications: Professional designations such as CISA, ITIL, NIST, or ISO 20000/27001 Lead Auditor are considered strong assets
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive process improvements without direct operational authority
About the JobOur client offers a competitive compensation package that includes a salary range of $80,000 to $105,000 (commensurate of experience), government pension, full benefits and vacation allotment.
