Dedicated IT Specialist
Location: Calgary, AB (onsite/hybrid as agreed)
Schedule: Monday–Friday; occasional overtime during incidents/rollouts

Role overviewAs our Dedicated IT Specialist, you will independently manage core IT operations with a focus on Security, Desktop, and Networking, while partnering across departments to keep people productive and data protected. You will lead and execute IT audits to assess control effectiveness, produce actionable reports, and shepherd remediation to closure.
Key responsibilitiesSecurity- Own endpoint protection, OS/application patching, MFA, and baseline hardening; track compliance.
- Monitor alerts (EDR/AV, email security, identity) and coordinate incident response and post‑mortems.
- Maintain access governance (Azure AD/M365), device compliance via Intune/MDM, and secure configuration standards.
Desktop & Productivity- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Windows 10/11, macOS, M365/Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive; resolve escalations.
- Image/deploy laptops; maintain device inventory; automate with PowerShell; write and maintain knowledge articles.
- Champion user experience: train employees, document how‑tos, and close the loop on support requests.
Networking- Administer switches, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and firewalls; manage VLANs, DHCP/DNS; optimize performance and uptime.
- Implement monitoring, capacity planning, and change management; coordinate vendor support when needed.
Audit & Compliance- Plan and perform internal IT audits; map controls to business risks; produce clear findings and recommendations.
- Track remediation with owners and timelines; report status to leadership; improve policies and SOPs.
Collaboration & Service- Support multiple departments (Finance, HR/People, Sales, Operations) with tailored solutions.
- Manage ticket queues; prioritize issues based on impact/urgency; communicate proactively and professionally.
- Contribute to project work (migrations, rollouts, upgrades) with minimal supervision.
Qualifications- Experience: 3–5+ years in a mid‑sized company covering security, desktop, and networking.
- Mindset: Independent worker, professional demeanor, team‑player attitude, strong customer focus.
- Technical: Azure AD/M365, Intune/MDM, PowerShell, Windows/macOS, TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi‑Fi, VPN, firewalls.
- Audit: Hands‑on experience conducting IT audits (planning, fieldwork, reporting, remediation tracking).
- Certifications (nice to have): CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft 365/MD‑102, CCNA, ITIL v4.
Work hoursMonday to Friday, with occasional overtime during incidents, maintenance windows, and project cutovers.
May involve some travel
Compensation & benefitsSalary range: $80,000.00 to $120,000.00 CAD, commensurate with experience.
